Rev. Frederick  Shaw, Jr (Fred Shaw Jr). is a native of Compton, CA and has worked in Compton for most of his life as a fierce advocate for children and adults in Civic and Human Rights. He has advocated and stressed the importance of education, and the reduction of poverty and drug addiction.

After attending Pepperdine University, Rev, Shaw was a Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputy from 1980-1993, which included organizing and implementing Sheriff’s Youth Athletic League.

began with a vision of bringing people together. As a former Chief steward and
Vice President of my Local 723 Labor Union SEIU 1000 and International Labor
Delegate of LA Federation of Labor, I began to expand my focus from narrow job

She is also a member of CCRH citizen commission on human rights which highlights the truth behind psychiatric abuse and psychotropic drugs. "I use social media platforms to educate people on the harmful effects of these drugs and the spreading of what I know through video and in person speaking engagements.

Jewell Shaw-Bowen serves as Chair of the Housing Executive Committee for the NAACP Inglewood/South Bay Branch, where she is committed to advancing housing opportunities, community engagement, and equitable access to resources. She has also taken on the leadership role of spearheading a membership initiative focused on strengthening partnerships and increasing participation among members of the Masonic Order and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Ms. Bowen brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her work. As the Contract Manager for the Los Angeles County Probation Department's AB 109 Division—one of the largest reentry programs in the nation—she oversees a multi-million-dollar housing contract that supports justice-involved individuals in successfully transitioning back into their communities. Her extensive background in public service, program administration, and contract management has made her a respected leader in the fields of housing and reentry services.

In addition to her public service career, Ms. Bowen serves as Chief Financial Officer of Basic Life Center Point, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations. She is also the founder and owner of Cousin Jewell's Closet, LLC, where she provides consultation and guidance to individuals and small family-owned businesses seeking to develop transitional housing and residential care facilities. Through her leadership, advocacy, and entrepreneurial efforts, Ms. Bowen continues to create pathways for housing stability, community development, and economic empowerment.
